Who is on the bus?

The model calls list_sessions and gets:

What online means​

online is true when the session's last_seen is within the last 20 seconds. last_seen is updated only when the session calls register or inbox.

  • A push session polls inbox every 5 seconds, so it stays online while it runs.
  • A plain session only updates last_seen when it registers or reads its inbox. It can show online: false while it is open and fine.
  • online: false does not stop delivery. You can send to any registered session; the mail waits.

Stale sessions​

Sessions not seen for 7 days are hidden. Pass include_stale: true to see them. They also stop receiving broadcasts. A stale session is not deleted. See unregister and release.
